ASE System

ASE System

ASE System is a Anti Skid surface based on polyurethane resin and high-friction bauxite. It is a modern system that reduces the braking distance and limits the development of excessive speed. ASE System thanks to high coefficient of adhesion is also extremely resistant to breaking and is characterized by the ability to adapt to any type of shape.

  • Bauxite crushed with a fraction of 1-3 mm
  • Polyurethane resin (PU)
  • SRT roughness index ≥ 80
  • Polishing factor PSV> 70
  • Surface color: gray, beige, red

Product functions

ASE The system consisting of hardened bauxite and polyurethane resin according to the test reduces the braking distance by up to 30% in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow and hoarfrost. Its purpose is to assist in emergency braking, so pedestrian crossings are the main application.

The diagram below shows the effect of the braking distance without the anti-slip surface. The diagram shows that at a speed of 70 km / h, if the pedestrian is noticed from a distance of 36 m, the driver will not be able to stop the vehicle even if it stops violently. In this case the pedestrian would be hit at 43km / h. If, at the same speed as the pedestrian noticed, the driver would have entered a non-slip surface that would shorten the braking distance, the vehicle would be stopped before the pedestrian, or at the very least pedestrian touch if it was at the extreme position of the P-10 line. So if the braking belt had exactly the same amount of braking distance as 17.5m.

Research shows that increasing the vehicle speed by 22 km / h, for example from 50 km / h to 72 km / h, doubles the stopping distance.

The braking distance at 70km / h is about 25m, given the fact that the non-slip surface reduces the road by 30%. The actual braking distance is 17.5m. As the vehicle does not always start the braking maneuver at the beginning of the non-slip surface, it will be recommended to increase its length. Minimum installation is 20 mb in length before the passage (also the line is P2a).
